As you know, Women’s Hospital and Surgical clinic of Heidelberg University and our University signed collaboration agreement 5 years ago. Only within the last 4 years 30 doctors from Simferopol went to twin town to have practice in its clinics. There they acquired new knowledge, gained new skills dealing with modern equipment and now they can use this experience in their own medical practice.
Starting with August 2012 our common work moved to a new level. Now collaboration and cooperation agreement is concluded between Heidelberg University and CSMU named after S. I. Georgievksy and countersigned by the rector of Heidelberg University Prof. Dr. Bernhard Eitel and the first pro-rector of CSMU Prof. Dr. Olga Pritulo. Help and the chance to go for practice in Heidelberg University Hospital are available for professors and doctors, besides student exchange will be possible. Our delegation had a meeting with program managers Manfred Lautenschläger, Magdalena Melter, Georg Hoffmann and Doris Verveur.
During the period of signing agreement between our Universities Prof. Dr. Olga Pritulo (Dermatology) and Associate Professor T. H. Filonenko (Pathology) had 2-week practice in the clinics of Heidelberg University – Department of Dermatology at the Heidelberg University Hospital, Ethianum clinic Heidelberg, Children’s Clinic and Institute of Pathology at the Heidelberg University Hospital.
According to the words of Prof. Dr. Olga Pritulo they saw “the medicine of future” in Heidelberg. Her colleague Associate Professor Т.H. Filonenko marked attention and punctuality of German doctors, their high professionalism: “All the specialists are competent in many methods of diagnostics and treatment. In every clinic there is its own diagnostic base, including the departments of clinical pathomorphology. The Department of Dermatology has its own dermatologist, who is also pathologist, and that makes easier diagnostic algorithm“.
Our “trainees” were extremely surprised that in the local children’s clinic they carried out even liver transplantation while in Simferopol we are short of the most necessary things, not speaking of such operations.
In September the team of German doctors and professors came to Simferopol and worked with their Crimean colleagues in different departments of the Republican Children’s Clinical Hospital. German delegation took part in the theoretical and practical conference. Besides, our guests brought with them the equipment for the newborn resuscitation as humanitarian aid.
As a part of collaboration, in Simferopol gymnasium № 3 three students of Dentistry Faculty of our University delivered a lecture on caries prevention and conducted a practical class “How Correctly to Brush Your Teeth”. They also handed over a present to the pupils (30 tubes of toothpaste and toothbrushes) from a group of students from Heidelberg participating in the program Share Health.
