The Regional Mission of CSMU |

CSMU is one of the largest higher schools of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Within 75 years from the date of its foundation, this higher school has been developing as the regional centre of medical science and education. The goal set in 1930 – to provide the region with medical specialists – has been successfully reached: about 90 % of medical doctors operating in Crimea are our graduates. In total, the University has graduated about 28,5 thousand specialists for practical public health services. Thus, we are successfully carrying on a major social and economic function bound with the employment problem, on the one hand, and maintenance of public health services for the population, on the other hand.
The University activities in the sphere of education provides continuous medical education during the person’s whole life, starting from the college and going on with a wide spectrum of educational services at the department of post-diploma education. The standard of academic and vocational training, skills obtained, the opportunity to constantly improve qualification allow our graduates to build a successful professional career in the modern ever-changing world.
The broad-scale research activities of the students, teachers and employees of the University promote introduction of new methods of diagnostics and treatment of diseases in practical public health services. The teachers organize and hold scientific-and-practical conferences and seminars, do largely scaled educational work among the population, propagating a healthy lifestyle.
The workers of our clinical faculties cooperate with the institutions of practical public health services. The medical treatment base of the clinical departments comprises 48 treatment-and-prophylactic establishments of Crimea. A strategic direction of the team working at the University and the republican institutions of public health services is creation of science-and-production associations or centers. The University workers are doing major jobs at the health resorts of Crimea for using the resort factors in treatment of diseases.
