Babanin Anatoly Andreyevich – Rector of CSMU from 1996
|
In September 1996, Professor A. A. Babanin headed the Institute. He offered a development concept that stabilized the economic situation of the Institute, allowed to introduce modern technologies into the system of education and scientific research.
The government highly appraised the successful development of all the parts of the Institute’s activities, and on January 26, 1998, the CSMI was transformed to University by the Order of the Cabinet of Ukraine.
The new status entailed a further reformation of educational and material resources, which promoted upgrading of education and efficiency of scientific research.
At the end of the nineties, the scale of repairing and building operation was growing: the major blocks and faculty premises, hostels, the Sports Centre and the House of Culture were overhauled. Recently the versatile University clinic has been put into operation. This is the University’s pride: by far not every high school has such education-research-and-production complex equipped with the most up-to-date expensive equipment, including a tomograph, new-generation ultrasonic and digital X-ray units, etc.
The computer equipment is being enriched and improved: currently we have over 800 computers, 26 computer classes fitted with educational and scientific materials and electronic reading rooms.
The character of educational process is changing: the lectures are delivered with impressive presentations - multimedia projectors have superseded old-fashioned codoscopes. The light microscopes cover the needs of all the students at the classes of the theoretical faculties, besides, there are two supermicroscopes at the students’ disposal. At the clinical departments there are educational films, moulages, phantoms, diagnostic inventory - everything has been done for the educational process to meet the requirements of the modern time.
It is especially important now when the University has awakely joined the transformation of educational process based on the Bologna system. The aspiration of the University workers to new achievements in scientific and pedagogical activities is guided by the goals of eurointegration - the reality of the 21st century
