History of the depertment |
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Crimean State Medical University named after S. I. Georgievsky was organized in 1955, as the department of the Medical and Pediatric faculties.
Its first Head was Associate Professor Nikonenko Ivan Panteleymonovich. In 1925 he graduated from the Kharkov medical university, in 1943 he defended his Ph. D. thesis and in1947 he became the Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the clinic of the Dnepropetrovsk medical institute. Since 1950 he is the chief obstetrician-gynecologist of the Crimea. Since 1955 he is the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2.
Nikonenko is an author of 21 published works and 2 manuscripts. Several times Nikonenko was awarded the Honorary Diplomas of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR and the medal «for the Victory over Germany».
Associate Professor Shylko N. A. was the Head of the department between 1960 and 1962. Associate Professor Demichev I. P. - between 1962 and 1964. Professor Syzganova K. N. – in 1964 - 1976. From 1976 to 1980 the Head of the department was Associate Professor Brusilovskiy Isaak Abramovich. In 1932 he completed his study of medicine. Since 1954 he is the Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Crimea medical institute. Since 1976 Brusilovskiy is the Head of the department. He is the author of 93 studies, including 5 brochures and 82 published works. In 1955 Brusilovskiy was awarded the badge “High Achiever in Healthcare”, in 1970 the badge “for Valorous Work in the Great Patriotic War 1941 – 1945”.
Professor Pasechnikov Yuriy Petrovich was the Head of the department in the period from 1980 to 1998.
At present, the department is headed by Professor Ivanov I. I.
The department works on the diagnostics and treatment of late gestosis in pregnant women, obstetric bleeding, its prevention and treatment. It also studies pathogenesis and treatment of fetoplacental insufficiency, problems of pediatric gynecology, problems of background disease and premalignant cervical lesions.
11 Ph. D. and 2 post-doctoral theses were defended.
They published 2 monographs, 3 collections of studies, over 100 author’s certificates and innovation proposals were received.
The studies are carried out in cooperation with the departments of Histology, Embryology, Pathological Anatomy and Chemistry.
They use modern diagnostic equipment such as electron microscopy, ultrasonography, dopplerometry, cardiotocography, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, densitometry, etc.
The department staff developed new diagnostic and treatment methods of late gestosis in pregnant women, autodonation. They regularly take part in the scientific conferences, symposia, congresses of obstetrician-gynecologists of Ukraine, Russia and EU countries.
