The Head of the Department is Tretyakova Olga Stepanovna, M. D., Professor.
Education: The Crimea State Medical Institute, Department of Pediatrics (1973-1979); post-graduate courses at the Crimea State Medical Institute on the specialty “Pediatrics” (1983-1985); postdoctoral studies (Kiev Medical Academy of Post-Diploma Education named after P. L. Shupik, Department of Pediatrics No.3, 2001- 2004).
In 1987 defense of Ph. D. thesis titled “The Condition of Platelets and Circulating Immune Complexes and Their Change under the Influence of Health Resort Treatment in Rheumatoid Arthritis in Children”.
1991 – awarded the academic rank of Associate Professor;
In 2004 the defense of postdoctoral thesis titled “Clinico-Experimental Justification of Optimized Cardioprotective Therapy of Neonatal Hypoxic Myocardial Lesion”.
2005 – awarded the academic rank of Professor;
Career and research: 1971-73 – assistant nurse in children polyclinic (Tokmak, Zaporozhye district). After graduation from the medical institute – internship in children hospital in Yevpatoria (1979-80), resident doctor in the sanatorium named after R. Luxemburg (Yevpatoria, 1980-1981), resident doctor of the main district hospital 1981-82 (Tokmak, Zaporozhye district). After the completion of post-graduate courses – assistant at the Department of Pediatrics at the Crimea State Medical Institute. From 1990 to 2001 – Associate Professor at the same department (1995-99 as a second job).
1995-99 – Deputy Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Crimea on the Maternity and Child Welfare Service.
2001-2004 – postdoctoral study at the Department of Children and Teenage Diseases in Kiev Academy of Post-Diploma Education named after P. L. Shupik.
2004 – 2008- the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Dean of the Medical Faculty of the Institute of Ecology and Medicine (Kiev) and Professor (as a second job) of the Department of Children and Teenage Diseases of the National Academy of Post-Diploma Education named after P.L. Shupik (Kiev).
2008- 2012 – Professor at the Department of Pediatrics with the Course of Children Infectious Diseases of the Crimea State Medical University named after S. I. Georgievsky.
Since February 2012 – the Head of the Department of Social Medicine and Public Health Economics of the Crimea State Medical University named after S. I. Georgievsky.
Author of over 220 studies (among them 8 study guides for practicing doctors and students such as «Кардиология детского и подросткового возраста» (“Cardiology of Children and Teen Age”) , «Перинатология» (“Perinatology”), «Избранные вопросы детской и подростковой гастроэнтерологии» (“Selected Problems of Children and Teenage Gastroenterology”), «Трудный диагноз» (“Difficult Diagnosis”), etc., 6 patents for invention and useful model, 3 innovations. Participant of over 70 international and Ukrainian congresses, symposia, workshops, lectures, trainings, conferences on pediatrics.
Length of scientific and teaching experience is 28 years. Medical experience is 32 years.
Board certified, higher category in pediatrics (since 1991).
Honored doctor of the Republic of Crimea.
Trainings in the USA (1995), Canada (1996) on the problems of policy in family planning.
Trainings and refresher courses in children cardiology, children hematology, homeopathy, antihomotoxic therapy, and other directions in pediatrics.
Professor Tretyakova O. S. was coordinator of the programs “The Children of Ukraine” and “Family Planning” in the Crimea. Tretyakova has cooperated with UNICEF, USAID, “Освіта” (Canada) and other public organizations.
Member of the Associations of Children Cardiorhematologists in Russia and the Crimea, Association of Pediatricians of Ukraine, Association of Neonatologists of Ukraine.
Member of editor council of scientific and practical magazines (as well as Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine) «Здоровье ребенка» (“Child Health”), «Клиническая иммунология. Аллергология. Инфектология» (“Clinical Immunology. Allergology. Infectology”), «Дитячий лікар» (“Children Doctor”), «Неонатологія, хірургія та перинатальна медицина» (“Neonatology, Surgery and Perinatal Medicine”).
The main directions of practical activity: general pediatrics, neonatology, cardiorheumatology, hematology, etc. Professor Tretyakova has also worked in the area of homeopathy and antihomotoxic therapy and is certified specialist.
