The head of the Department of Forensic Medicine with the Course of Law is Professor Babanin Anatoly Andreevich, Doctor of Medicine, Honoured Worker of Science and Technique of Ukraine, Honoured Academician of the International Academy of Anthropology, the Academy of Medical Sciences of Poland, the New York Academy of Medicine, awarded with the Badge of Honor from the President of Ukraine, the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree, the Albert Schweizer Gold Medal. He is the Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Rector of the Crimea State Medical University named after S. I. Georgievsky. He published over 280 scientific works. Author of 5 monographs. 5 doctoral and 26 Ph. D. theses have been performed under his supervision and successfully defended. Professor Babanin A. A. is an expert of higher category in forensic medicine.
