WIPO Awards Program has been working since 1979 and has an aim to stimulate inventive and innovative activities of inventors in the world and as well as their role in the growth of recognition of national wellbeing and development. It should be mentioned here that such WIPO awards the inventor has the right to be given only once in the life. There are several categories of awards including women-inventors, young inventors and students. Since 1979 till August 2009 medals of WIPO and other honorable distinctions have been given to about 1200 inventors from 118 countries. Women are 20 per cent of all winners. There are two levels of WIPO awards. They are given to prominent inventors and inventors.
A Golden Medal of the prominent inventor was given to the postgraduate student of the department of medical biology of CSMU Tatyana Satayeva (scientific adviser –K.L. Lazarev) for the achievements in the development of healthy models in medicine.
Nikolai Palady, a chairman of the Ukrainian state department of intellectual property expressed his gratitude to the rector of CSMU professor A.A. Babanin and professor K.L. Lazarev for the valuable contribution into the young scientist’s training.
Postgraduate student Tatyana Satayeva was also awarded two golden medals of International exhibition pavilion “New Time” and a golden medal of Saint Petersburg All-Russia organization of inventors and rationalizers. Exposition of the six year student Denis Shaduro (scientific adviser –V.S.Pikalyuk) was a great success at the International exhibition pavilion. He was awarded a golden medal of the exhibition for the unique technique of embalming.
A considerable role in the protection of intellectual property, official registration of innovations in the process of international recognition belongs to the vice-rector on scientific work professor A.V. Kubyshkin and divisional patent counsel M.V. Plotnikova. Many thanks to all!
